Henshaw Park re-generation

After extensive consultation with the residents of Parnwell Henshaw Park was identified as a key area for improvement. As part of the funding granted by WREN with support from Fair Share BTCV has been able to re-generate the Henshaw Park to create an open welcoming space for the entire community. The main areas of improvement are:

  • Brand new outdoor gym giving Parnwell residents the opportunity to keep fit for free in the fresh air
  • New footpaths adjusted to follow desire lines in the park
  • Old footpaths have been repaired and re-surfaced
  • The old bark pit from the pirate ship has been removed and re-landscaped
  • The park has been extended to include an area of previously unused space adjacent to the park
  • Bushes have been removed form the front of the park to create an open and welcoming entrance

There is still work to do, local residents are volunteering their time to help complete the work, coppicing bushes, planting trees and improving the vegetation throughout the park. if you would like to get involved please contact Michael Charles on 01733 563 642 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
